Dear Somerset Residents,

We wanted to remind you that the highly anticipated Somerset Community Association Parade and Picnic in the Park is just around the corner – only one day away! This is an event you won't want to miss, as it's a fantastic opportunity for neighbors to come together, have fun, and celebrate our country's independence.

Date: Thursday, July 4th
Time: Gathering begins at 11:15am
Location: Somerset Rec Club lower parking lot (corner of Somerset Boulevard and Somerset Drive, 4445 Somerset Boulevard)

Here are some exciting highlights of what you can look forward to on the day:

• We will gather in the Somerset Rec Club lower parking lot at the corner of Somerset Boulevard and Somerset Drive (4445 Somerset Boulevard). The parade along Somerset Drive starts at 11:30am and the route is about 0.8 miles, ending at Forest Hills Neighborhood Park (13232 SE 51st Pl). As always, fire engine 104 and Bellevue Police will lead the parade and join our picnic. A great chance for the little ones to see a fire truck up close and high-five a policeman! 
  
• We will have prizes for the best costumes (most patriotic individual, most original individual, most patriotic family), best decorated transport (bike, wagon, scooter), and most patriotic dog!  
• BBQ hot dogs (and veggie dogs), chips, drinks, and dessert will be available, hosted by the Somerset Community Association.
• We are planning for field games and other fun activities.
• Honey buckets with hand washing stations will be available at the park.
• Capture the memorable moments of the day by taking photos. We encourage you to share your photos with us by July 9th. Email them to [email protected]. We would love to feature the best photos in our upcoming publications.
• If you're feeling inspired to contribute, volunteering is more than welcome! Visit 4th of July - Somerset Community Association (somerset98006.org) to explore the complete list of available volunteer jobs and easily sign up online.

The Somerset Rec Club will open for the season on Saturday May 18, and everyone is welcome!!

Grab your swimsuit and check out the pool, admire the newly surfaced pickleball, tennis and basketball court, and enjoy complimentary hamburgers and hotdogs on the pool deck. 

Non-members are invited to try out the pool from 1-4pm, while members can stay on until 8pm, find out more about the SRC Opening Day on the Rec Club website.
