📣 Celebrate Lunar New Year with a Lion Dance When: Sunday, February 6 - 2:00pm Where: Somerset Elementary School Come celebrate Lunar New Year with your Somerset Neighbors! The Somerset Community Association has invited an authentic lion and dragon dance troupe and Kung Fu masters to perform at Somerset Elementary on February 6 at 2:00pm. The event will include a lion dance, dragon dance with drums, and a Kung Fu performance by the Shaolin master and his students! Did you know that Lunar New Year is celebrated by more people than any other holiday on earth? Lunar New Year marks the first day of the lunisolar calendar based on the cycles of the moon. This year it occurs on February 1, 2022 and begins the Year of the Tiger, as determined by the Chinese Zodiac. Join us to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Tiger! On January 20, 2022 we held the Somerset Annual General Meeting at Forest Ridge School. It was a hybrid meeting, residents could attend either in person or online via Zoom.
A big Thank You to Forest Ridge for once again hosting the Somerset Community for the annual meeting at their wonderful facility. Attendance was excellent: Over 80 households attended on Zoom and almost all socially distanced chairs were taken. Vaccinations and masks were required for in-person attendance. It was packed agenda, with a Q&E with city staff added on short notice. A big Thank You to the city of Bellevue representatives for attending and answering questions from residents. Required Business

There was a significant landslide event early Monday morning, January 17, 2022 that severely damaged a home in our neighborhood and forced a number of nearby residents to evacuate the area. All impacted residents are reported to be safe and physically unharmed. A water main break was involved but the root cause of the slide is still under investigation.
