Vandalism Near Somerset Entrance (Mon 6–8 PM) Help us protect our neighborhood by reporting related information Dear Neighbors,
Unfortunately, SCA assets were vandalized yesterday, which reflects poorly on the entire community. We do not yet know whether the individuals responsible were juveniles or adults, but we are asking for the community’s help. We all value living in a neighborhood with minimal crime, and vandalism affects everyone. Mutual respect for our neighbors and their property is essential to maintaining the character of this community. If anyone has information about this incident—particularly if you were driving along Somerset Boulevard near the main entrance and may have captured video between approximately 6:00–8:00 PM on Monday, March 23—please let us know. You may also report vandalism directly to the City of Bellevue. Thank you for helping keep our community safe, and our public spaces well cared for. Sincerely, SCA Board of Directors The City of Bellevue has shared an update regarding follow-up work related to the recent water main break on SE 43rd St.
Residents along SE 43rd St should expect door-to-door notifications and a temporary water service disruption next week as crews make system improvements. Additional construction and paving work will follow. Please see the attached notice from the City of Bellevue for the full schedule and details. Several residents have recently raised questions about the Somerset View Crew website and related emails circulating within the community. The website contains commentary, documents, and videos concerning Somerset community matters and individual residents. As the website is publicly accessible, anyone searching for information about Somerset or any of its divisions may find and rely on this content. For clarity, the Somerset Community Association (SCA) is not affiliated with, does not operate, and does not endorse the Somerset View Crew website, its emails, or the GoFundMe fundraising page. These platforms contain inaccurate statements and misrepresentations about the SCA, CRC, and related matters. The fact that the website currently states that the Division 8 Third Amendment (A3) is “valid and in effect” is misleading to readers, as is the inclusion of the SCA logo on the YouTube account page. The recent A3 lawsuit (Mickelson, et al. v. Bofferding) challenged the A3 approval process. Although the SCA lawyer stated in his first review that A3 required unanimous approval and notarized signatures, the Somerset View Crew chose to disregard SCA legal guidance and instead caused the community to incur tens of thousands of dollars by refusing to remedy the amendment. At present, aside from Charlie Bofferding and possibly other members of the Division 8 “Door Knock Crew,” the Somerset View Crew members responsible for A3, the website and related communications have not identified themselves, yet they are asking neighbors in Division 8 to trust them with changes to the CC&Rs tied to their property. We hope that the people operating the Somerset View Crew website, Facebook page, Instagram, and YouTube account will identify themselves to the community and make the appropriate updates. Thank you for helping support respectful, transparent, and informed communication within our community. Sincerely, SCA Board of Directors [email protected] There appears to be a water line break on SE 43rd Street in Division 6. The City of Bellevue is aware of the situation and is expected to shut off the water when they begin repair work.
Residents nearby may experience a temporary water shutoff once the repair process starts. We will share additional updates if more information becomes available.
